Testimonials

Glenmuick is a family home and the moment you arrive at this impressive house, surrounded by the beauty of the Scottish hills,  you have a feeling of warmth and the promise of a fantastic holiday. Although the house sleeps 20, it never feels big or imposing. It is comfortable without being over the top, with plenty of hot water and helpful and efficient staff that make for a  truly restful time. The house lends itself to parties for all seasons and entertains all ages with a magnificent games room that you would only find in Scotland.

The 'Hill' provides superb sport with rewarding fishing on the Dee. With beautiful gardens too, there is always something to engage your senses.

You are always sad to leave, but it is in the knowledge that your stay has been memorable and special.

Thankyou for a lovely stay in Antlers cottage over Hogmanay. The cottage had everything we needed and was a great place to stay and use for a base for a few walks in the area. The open fire was a definite plus - we’ll be back! :)

Thanks again for everything!

Happy new year

Claire

I wanted to let you know how much we ADORED the House of Glenmuick. We had the most memorable week and birthday celebrations, and yes indeed, the balmy weather helped make everything that much more special. The house is a very unique place, and we felt totally at home there. The fishing, stalking and shooting were the icing on our cake, and very much appreciated! The chef you organised, namely Pip, is a GEM of the first order! We - as well as our guests - thought he was fantastic. Meanwhile, all the very best, and thank you once again. Kate.

I can't add much more to what Kate has said other than saying it was all ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! We had such a fantastic time and are already thinking hard for an excuse to go back soon! Thank you so much once again. Best wishes Tim

This was our fourth year at Glenmuick with our family and the experience is still one of the best holidays that the children enjoy. Our grandchildren of whom there are eleven vary in age from three to sixteen and they all enjoy different parts of the holiday.  As always the premises and the staff are excellent.

Glenmuick House has been the best find ever as a holiday home for my family and friends. All my children always ask us to rebook our week in August as it is still their 'best holiday ever'.

Glenmuick is a jewel in the Royal Deeside Crown, a fine example of a traditional Scottish estate, it’s family, flora and fauna extend their warmth and gentle hospitality to all.

Our family have shared many hours exploring ‘Glenmuick’and this area of Scotland, it has become our special place, home from home. The main house and cottages can cater for any family looking for the perfect Scottish holiday.

We recommend it to you, sample it’s delights, you will not be disappointed.

The Boam Family

We have been lucky enough to take Glenmuick for two weeks every year over the last seven years and have always had the most wonderful holiday. It is the ultimate in Scottish Estates. The Lodge provides all modern comforts while keeping a traditional feel and has a magnificent games room providing entertainment for all ages.

The Estate offers grouse shooting, fishing on the Dee, clay pigeons and stalking. With a golf course on the doorstep you could not ask for a more perfect Scottish holiday with numerous activities for everyone to enjoy. We hope to continue going to Glenmuick for years to come!

We have had had three wonderful holidays at Glenmuick. The house is such a spoiling place to stay. Although very large, it is easy to all gather together by the fire for pre dinner drinks and the feeling is informal and relaxed.  After a day on the hill there really is no better place to come back to.

For those who don't want to take the opportunity to stalk or shoot on the beautiful surrounding hills, just spending time at the house and enjoying the classic formal and informal gardens is a pleasure. The house works for all generations, children seem to disappear in the play room and back rooms and adults have just as much fun in the impressive billiard room!

The staff at the house are really friendly and make the stay so comfortable. The fires are always laid and the aftermath of the night before vanished before breakfast

We are already hugely looking forward to next year.

It was a truly memorable week and such a treat spending time with friends and family in your welcoming home.  The days were packed with activities and after fun filled evenings we sank happily into the comfortable beds.  Everyone took such great care of us and made every moment special.

We were thrilled that our girls took to stalking with such enthusiasm and my near success with a salmon kept me at the river bank for hours.

Hopefully we'll be back soon.

This was a perfect place for our annual holiday. There was nothing lacking and the presentation and cleanliness was first class. The peace and sense of (moderate) isolation was sublime and yet Ballater was only 20 odd minutes walk or a few minutes drive. The ability to set off for a walk from the doorstep taking any one of numerous paths and tracks and all of them beautiful was just what we wanted and the generosity of the estate enabling this was very welcome. We spent more time in and around the lodge than many other places we have been because it was just so nice. We also enjoyed finding out about the history of the estate.

There is plenty of space inside with a large well equipped kitchen area which made cooking meals straight forward with all the necessary utensils, etc. and a solid dining table. Though open plan the 'lounge' area felt cosy and very comfortable. The only downside was that the (under floor) heating is so good and the weather so warm that we only used the fantastically efficient log burner once. There are 2 lovely shower rooms and the super king size bed one of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. The utility room is a great place to dry any wet clothing, boots, etc. There is plenty of space in the whole property.

This was really faultless and we are sure that we will return.

Just wanted to write a quick email to say how much my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay in Antlers Cottage this week past.

I cannot speak highly enough of the cottage, the estate and all the staff I dealt with. Jacqui was extremely helpful in organising everything and we were made to feel very welcome. I can't thank David and his team enough for organising some clay shooting for us despite having a busy schedule, they really went above and beyond.

If the availability is there we would love to stay again.

Absolutely stunning!

The accommodation is first class is every way. Fantastic attention to detail and spotless throughout. Set within a beautiful location with Ballater just around the corner. We ventured as far out to Aviemore but also enjoyed the stunning towns close by. So much to do, we only scratched the surface.

This place will not disappoint in anyway at all! The upkeep, maintenance and cleaning are first class! We will be back!!!

Claire

A gorgeous cottage in a remote location and yet only a few minutes from Ballater. Great facilities, wonderful countryside location.

Wish we could keep as our little secret!
